Kibalnyk S. Personality of a human smuggler in Ukraine

Goal. The purpose of the article is to consider the criminogenic features and qualities characteristic for the persons committing the acts, responsibility for which is provided for by Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Method. The methodology includes a detailed comprehensive analysis of data obtained from the study of 270 archive criminal cases regarding 361 persons considered by the local courts under this article during 2007-2017. Results. The research madedelimitation of the personality of human smuggler from the personality of human trafficker and the extortioner, demonstrates significant complexity and heterogeneity of the subject of study and offers four types of human smugglers. Scientific novelty. On the basis of systematized material and its analyzing conducted the first typing of human smugglers based on the criterion of their involvement in this activity as a branch of transnational crime industry. Practical significance. This typology is necessary as a basis in the development of an effective proposal reduction strategy on the committing this crimes.
