Purpose. The purpose of the article is to analyze the peculiarities of provision of free legal aid in minor civil cases, to identify the problematic aspects of providing such assistance in the light of judicial practice, to determine the prospects for improving this type of legal aid. Methodology. The methodology includes a comprehensive analysis and synthesis of available scientific and theoretical material and the formulation of relevant conclusions and recommendations. During the research, the following methods of scientific knowledge were used: terminological, functional, system-structural, logical-normative. Results: in the course of the study, it was recognized that free legal assistance in minor civil cases plays an important social role in the field of protection of human rights of  citizens in Ukraine and has a number of features that significantly distinguish this type of legal aid from other types of legal aid. In the course of the research, the main features of provision of free legal aid in minor civil cases were identified and systematized, the shortcomings of the legal regulation of this legal institution were identified, and proposals were made to improve certain provisions of the legislation on the facilitation of access to free legal aid in civil cases and to increase the efficiency of its provision.
