Goal. The purpose of the study is to identify the current problems of combating organized crime in the field of general-purpose orientation in Ukraine. Method. The methodology includes a detailed comprehensive analysis and synthesis of available scientific and theoretical material on the raised issues, on the basis of which grounded worldview conclusions and recommendations on disclosure of the essence of the studied concepts are made. Results It is determined that it is possible to achieve an effective result in the process of counteraction to organized crime only if the mentioned problem aspects are overcome. However, according to international experience, in the presence of the state’s resolve, a reasonable criminal policy with unconditional compliance with the principle of equal rights of citizens before a criminal law, regardless of official, property status and other circumstances, the opposition to organized crime, including general-law orientation, can be quite effective. Scientific novelty. Based on the analysis of empirical material, professional legal literature and international experience in counteracting organized crime, the problematic aspects have been identified that adversely affect the counteraction of organized crime to the general criminal orientation. Practical significance. The present problems of counteraction to organized crime and perspective directions of counteraction to it are determined.
