Purpose. The purpose of the work is to analyze the normative and legal acts that are the basis of the formation of patriotism of schoolchildren in the context of ensuring national security, to find out the prospects for the real implementation of normatively regulated methods and methods of patriotic education in the educational process. Methodology. The methodology includes a comprehensive analysis and generalization of the available scientific and theoretical material and the formulation of relevant conclusions and recommendations. The choice of the research methodology is conditioned by the purpose of the article, the system of philosophical and worldview, general scientific and special scientific concepts regarding the research of normative and legal foundations of the formation of patriotism among schoolchildren. The following methods of scientific knowledge were used during the research: terminological, logical-semantic, functional, systemic-structural, logical-normative. Results. In the process of research, it was established that in Ukraine, the education of patriotism among schoolchildren is based on the norms of legal acts of different legal force, which should be taken into account when planning work on the education of schoolchildren. A considerable number of these normative and legal acts were adopted against the background of a full-scale military invasion of Russian troops on the sovereign territory of Ukraine. The legislation on patriotic education is aimed at forming in schoolchildren a sense of national dignity and love for Ukraine, its history and culture. Originality. The scientific novelty consists in the comprehensive analysis of legal acts that regulate the directions, methods and methods of patriotic schoolchildren in Ukraine and the development of recommendations for their effective implementation in the educational process. Practical significance. The results of the research can be used in law-making and law-enforcement activities during the planning and implementation of events in the field of patriotic education of schoolchildren.
